Since India is fighting hard against the pandemic COVID-19 situation, it is also facing rising demands of food, goods and medicines. In one hand police are enforcing the lockdown to break the chain of community infection, on the other hand, they need to look after these fake products in the market.
Central Crime Branch has been conducting frequent raids in the several parts of Bangalore over the past week, where they have seized these fake products: 12,000 face masks, 8,500 bottles of hand sanitizers and 70 infrared thermometers. These products were produced just after the Novel Coronavirus has kicked in. Soon it reached to the market easily, as the panic shopping started among the people.
12,000 fake face masks which are selling as N95 masks in the city have been seized by Central Crime Branch, Bangalore police. Officers have arrested those people, who were producing these masks using cloths. They are suspecting that Pharmacies may not aware of receiving these fake masks. Officials are pursuing leads to get more information from the arrested men to find more products in the market.
CCB cops have sealed two godown of Jyoti Chemicals in New Taragupet and Swati and Company in Kasturbanagar in the city, where two men are manufacturing fake hand sanitizers and hand rubs. They were using cheap perfumes, blue colouring agents and isopropyl alcohol in small quantities.
CCB checked in a surgical and scientific store in Rajajinagar on 30 March, where they’ve found fake infrared thermometers which are departed from Chennai to the city. Those are worth around 8 lack rupees as per the price the seller charged to the customers.
Health Department is receiving several complains of fake face masks and sanitizers. Reports are coming from the other parts of the country as well.
