According to the sources, Facebook has banned a BJP leader name T Raja Singh at the core of allegations that the social media giant did not apply hate speech rules on members of the ruling BJP.
One of the spokespeople of Facebook email statement that “we have banned Raja Singh from Facebook for violating our policy prohibiting those that promote or engage in violence and hate from having a presence on our platform”.
He further added that “it is extensive and it is what letters to Facebook decision to remove his account”. BJP leader from Telangana has been banned by Facebook, however, Facebook action against the leader comes as it faces growing political pressure in India over its handling of extremist content.
As part of the process, BJP MLA will not be allowed on Facebook to create a page or any account or it’s photo and video sharing platform Instagram. Also, the company will remove pages, groups, and accounts that are created to represent him for his work.
According to the reports the MLA who is banned from Facebook had claimed in a video that was posted on Twitter last month that he does not have any official Facebook page and he also does not use Facebook. In the statement, he said that “I have got to know many Facebook pages are using my name. Let me clarify I am not having any official page, I am not responsible for any of their posts.”
