The sate govt has requested the center for the extension of the 21 days lockdown which is set to end on April 14. Many Chief Ministers of different states have appealed to the PM for the same. The chief minister of Rajasthan, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh in a media report have appealed to the PM. The state goverments are expected to send reports of evaluation on or before Wednesday to the center.
Ashok Gehlot, the CM of Rajasthan said that the state has faced the situation properly and indicated the lockdown to be extended in a way that it doesn’t affect the people of the state.A total of 328 cases have been reported in the state, with 40 new cases in the last 24 hours. ShivRaj Singh Chauhan. the Madhya Pradesh told the media that the citizen’s life is more important that the country’s economy. The economy can be brought back, but the lost lives cannot be brought back and if needed the state is ready to increase the lockdown period. In the past three days 56 new cases have been tested positive in the state. K Chandrasekar Rao also requested the centre for the same.The Telangana CM said that they do not have any other optionthan extending lockdown, KCR wants the PM to extend the lockdown without any hesitation.
With high no of cases day by day the govt can mostly bring a phased lockdown in the country. Till now these are just discussions and the people are awaiting foir the Pm’s view. The possibility of sustained lockdown with periodic relaxations cannot be ignored.
