A strong earthquake has been felt across the North India, Pakistan and Afghanistan on Friday at 5:09 pm. The sources of tremor have been detected in the Hindu-Kush region in Afghanistan.
According to the National Institute of Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.3 on the Richter scale. However, as per the US geological survey, it was reported a slightly lower reading of 6.1.
The intensity of the earthquake was 190 kilometres below the surface, around 245 kilometres northeast to Kabul. The tremor has been felt in Delhi-NCR, was strong and lasted for at least 10 seconds.
The tremors were felt in Mathura, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Jammu and Kashmir and several other parts of Northern region of India. It has been reported that evacuation panic was spread among the Lahore region, Pakistan.
