Start the morning with fenugreek water. Soak a little fenugreek in the night and drink it in the morning. The amount of soluble fibre in fenugreek seeds is very high, which slows the rate of absorption of sugar. It also helps in removing toxins from your body.
Eating soaked almonds also provides healthy fat and good quality protein. Soaked almonds are better because tannin is found in its skin which hinders the absorption of nutrients. By removing the peel of almonds, the body absorbs nutrients and anti-oxidants more efficiently.
Have breakfast with protein and fibre. Take things like whole grains, eggs for breakfast. Foods with high fibre are digested slowly and blood sugar is controlled. You can include things like oats idli, moong dal chilla, dal paratha in breakfast.
Eat fruit instead of fruit juice. Most of the fibre comes out in packaged fruit juice and the amount of sugar is high. This juice can harm you in diabetes. So instead of juice, consume seasonal fruits directly.
Maintain the amount of fluid in the body. You can consume lemonade, herbal tea. If you do not take any fluid for a long time, the body may become dehydrated and your blood sugar may be uncontrolled.
