Actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh have been summoned by the Office of Narcotics Control in a surprising twist to the drug investigation linked to the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput. All have been invited to appear in the next three days.
These are the most prominent names that have emerged in a broad investigation into drug allegations linked to the film industry, which emerged during inquiries into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14.
Deepika Padukone was called up on Friday and Rakul Preet Singh tomorrow. Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor will be interviewed on Saturday and fashion designer Simone Khambatta will also be interviewed tomorrow, authorities said.
Deepika Padukone sales manager Karishma Prakash will also be questioned on Friday in a case the Office of Narcotics Control filed based on WhatsApp messages recovered from Rhea Chakraborty’s cell phone, which revealed conversations about the purchase.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in a separate case on record after 59 grams of marijuana were seized during searches in Mumbai. She has been accused by the drug agency of arranging drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, whom she dated in her final months.
The names of Sara Ali Khan, a co-star of Sushant Singh Rajput, and Rakul Preet Singh keeps coming up during the examination of Rhea Chakraborty. Rakul Preet Singh had last week gone to the Delhi High Court alleging a media trial over reports that she had been named among drug users in Bollywood.
