The outbreak of COVID-19 is bringing up mental health issues as the number of infected are increasing. Those who are contaminated with the infection, the prime suspects of that person is suffering from mental health issues at a very high level.
It is very much obvious that the quarantine life is affecting over a person’s mental health, but if anyone of the house has been tested positive for COVID-19, the other members of the family, especially mother and father are frightened enough to the death for their loved ones or themselves. Thus they are victimised with the anxiety issues mostly.
The quarantine life has control over the freedom of several people, as they are restricted to do something in their lives that rage for restrictions is coming out as the abnormal behaviour or blubbering in between conversation or mood swings in a critical level.
A Delhi-based psychiatrist, Alok Sarin says that the current situation blurs the boundary between the people with mental health issues and people. Though everyone has prepared to some extent for the lockdown, still it is hard to say that they are mentally prepared for this anxiety issue.
Everyone considered this period as the survival of the fittest. The Mental healthcare-associated doctors started doing online counselling to make this better. Many of the businessmen along with teenagers are looking for counselling to combat this anxiety issue and other mental breakdowns during the quarantine. But such situations are getting worse, that the alcoholic people couldn’t be treated online. As the rehabilitation centres are closed, many adults are going crazy even to some extent the children’s are uncontrollable.
