The Union Health Ministry data revealed that the healthcare workers in Telangana among the worst affected due to COVID-19.
Due to the common dining area for the doctors in the hospital, the cases of COVID-19 infections are increasing among the healthcare staff.
Lohit ready who is the junior doctor from Gandhi Hospital said that “situations is the same in some places where the donning and doffing rooms of PPE kits are common. These might look like small issues but can lead to serious consequences as the infection continues to spread among the staff”.
Doctors also complain about the poor quality of PPE kits. A doctor from Gandhi Hospital said that providing PPE kits to healthcare staff has been more of a formality than a measure to ensure protection right from the beginning. There is also a shortage of sterile surgical gloves a few days back. while the officials from the healthcare department have denied the allegation about the poor quality of PPE kits to frontline workers.
Regarding this, a senior doctor and health official said about the allegations that “Frontline staff are getting standard PPE kits. However, will look into the issue of common dining area”.
