On August 21 In the document on world Health organization (WHO) website the United Nations children’s fund said that children aged 12 and over should mandatorily wear a mask when a one-meter distance from others cannot be guaranteed and there is widespread transmission in the area.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) children aged 12 and over should compulsorily wear a mask to help tackle the COVID-19 pandemic under the same conditions as adults by children between 6 and 11 should wear them on a risk-based approach. By wearing the mask this will decrease the spread of COVID-19 pandemic as it stated that the study shows that older children play a potential role and are more active in transmission of the virus.
The two organizations said that children whose age are between 6 and 11 should wear mass depends on the factors which include the intensity of the transmission in the area that is how many infected areas are reported in the particular area, the children’s ability to use a mask, access to mask and adequate adult supervision.
According to the Reuters tally, across the world, more than 23 million people have been reported to be infected by the coronavirus. Since it was first identified in China last year and 798,997 have died.
