Peter Bonetti, the former goalkeeper playing for Chelsea died at 78 after fighting a prolonged illness. He was nicknamed as “the cat” for his distinguished agility and relaxes. Chelsea referred Peter as an indisputably all-time great player.
Bonetti was also among one of the players for England in 1970 World Cup finals. He was also a part of 1966 winning team although he didn’t play. Also, in June 2009 a winner medal was presented to him for his outstanding work. In his career, for the London club, he kept 208 clean sheets in 729 appearances.
Chelsea said that Bonetti was one extraordinarily innovative and incredible player. Along with Chelsea FC and England, the official handle of FIFAWorldCup also mourned over his death. The reason behind his death was that he was ill for a long time.
