The total no of cases in Maharashtra crosses 1000 becoming the first state of India to cross the 1000 mark. Cases have been increasing day by day as more than 150 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, out of which 116 cases were from Mumbai. Maharstra is continuing to grapple with the corona virus crisis. The state has witnessed 48 deaths and 12 deaths were reported on Tuesday.Mumbai is currently a hotbed of the virus with 642 cases, the most affected city in the country.
23 cases have been linked to the Tablighi jamaat event at Nizamuddin Delhi. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh have warned Tablighi Jamaat members for strict action if they do not turn up for the virus test. More than 50 persons who have attended tyhe mosque meet are hiding. He urged to these people to report to the police immediately or face strict action under the law.The Minister said that he requires full cooperation from the people who have attended the meet. The police also registered cases against the personals who had given shelter to the people who attended the mosque meet; were sheltering them in various mosques,schools in various districts of Maharashtra. The longer these people stay out of the radar of police and health officials, the risks will increase as they can infect many other people too.
The Health department had earlier declared 2 private hospitals as containment zones now they declared the area near the CM’s resident as a tea vendor was tested positive for the virus. Mathosree, the Thackeray clans ancestoral home is in thye heart of Bandra East. Entries and exit have been stopped near the area and movements have been restricted in the entire area. 270 people’s samples have been tested and under observation.
