#BlackLivesMatter founded back in 2013, a foundation and a global organization in the USA, UK and Canada. It aims to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to get involved in the violence inflicted over the Black communities by the state and vigilantes. They are combating over the violence, creating space for the Black mind and modernism for the improvement of life. This is the movement for the Freedom, Liberation and Justice for Black life.
The demise of George Floyd was brutal and heart-wrenching, which leads to this movement. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook has been flooded with the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag. He was 46 years old unarmed and black man, who was punished by the police outside the Minneapolis, Minn. A white police officer, Derek Chauvin kneeing on Floyd’s neck for eight more minutes, and he passed away due to that physical assault.
George visits the grocery store ‘Cup Foods’ on May 25 to buy a packet of cigarette. During payment, a store employee discovered that the bill is counterfeit and according to the protocol he called 911. The officers came to the store were responding to a report of forgery also. The suspect was similar to Floyd’s appearance. A physical altercation started between them and Floyd came out of the car. He was handcuffed during the auscultation by the officers.
Many witnesses recorded this incident on their cellphone, where it was seen that the police was kneeling over the man, and he was screaming in pain that he couldn’t breathe, and he has symptoms of claustrophobia. The man was in that position for 8+ minutes and soon he lost his conscious. After reaching the hospital, the doctor said that he is dead by now.
This incident shocks the world. USA’s residents of the black community started protesting and showing their anger towards the police department. They blocked the road, trashing over the police vans and asking for justice. Many police came forward to show their solidarity toward the Black community. In many places, the White community apologize to the Black community by bending on knees with tears, guilt and distressing.
Many popular artists, players, politicians came forward to support the #BlackLivesMatters initiative. Many celebrities shared their experience of racism act also. All of them are agreed on the fact that Racism still exists in the world, and it is brutal and painful enough to destroy innocent lives for many years. It must be stopped now. USA President Donald Trump ordered to deploy the National Guard to control the riot situation.
