On Monday as a part of unlocking 4 Bengaluru’s Namma Metro resumed its service with a purple line. As per the guidelines with the frequency of 5 minutes trains will operate between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
At 9:00 a.m. today the first metro train started from Bayyappana Halli metro station to Mysore road and at 11 a.m. the last train will depart from these stations. The top 5 states which are reporting the highest number of cases of COVID-19 infection, Karnataka is among them.
Due to the ongoing crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic metro rail services has suspended over 5 months. The services resumed on September 1 with the home ministry can templating including this from the list of prohibited activities under unlock 4.
However, schools and colleges are likely to remain shut keeping in mind of fears that by opening the school and colleges that may end up as a potential cluster for COVID-19 transmission.
According to the data of Health Ministry in the past 24 hours, Karnataka reported 9,319 new cases of COVID-19 and 95 deaths taking active cases to 99,266.
