Australia’s Test captain Tin Pen has said that in his country, Indian captain Virat Kohli is also seen as other cricketers. Penn also said that Kohli is one of those whom Australians hate, but as a fan, people like to watch Kohli bat, but we don’t want to see him scoring runs against Australia.
On 27 November, India has to play three ODIs, three T20s, and four matches Test series November 27. While Kohli will captain the team in the limited-overs series and the first Test, Penn will lead the Australian team in the four-match Test series.
Penn told ABC Sports, ‘I get asked a lot of questions about Virat Kohli, but he is the same for me as the rest of the players. I have no such relationship with him. I meet him during the toss and play against him on the field. There is nothing more than this.
Australia’s Test captain Tin Pain said, ‘The great thing with Virat is that we like to hate him, but as a cricket fan he also likes to watch him bat. We like to see him bat, but do not want to see him scoring more runs.
Penn also made it clear that his team does not want to get into any dispute with Kohli and they will do the same on the field. The Australian captain said, ‘There is a hate competition between India and Australia. He is a competitive person and I am like that. There have been many occasions when things have also happened between us, but it is not because he was the captain or whether I was captaining the team, it can happen to anyone.
Penn further said, ‘There is more tension when there is a great player like him. This is the same as playing against England. Joe Root and Ben Stokes are there. He is a good player, due to which the performance of the team goes up.
