Over the weekend, Australia initiated an airlift of those nationals who were stranded in India. On Sunday, the first flight took off from Delhi to Melbourne to bring back the citizens who were stuck in several parts of the world.
After a telephonic conversation, PM Modi assured Scott Morrison, the Australian PM that he will provide support to the stranded citizens. He also added that all the necessary arrangements will be performed to send back those people who were stuck here, in India.
Apart from 430 Australians out of 440, 14 nationals were from New Zealand. A charter flight, JT2846 was organised by Simon Quinn for getting back the stranded individuals. After the lockdown in India, Quinn initiated a social media campaign to help all the Australian citizens.
