The grammy award winning singer John Prine, who turned out to be the most influential singer after emerging from Chicago’s folk rival scene died at the age of 73 on tuesday after being infected by the coronavirus.
After suffering symptoms of the virus, Prine was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical center in Nashville on March 26. Fiona, Prine’s wife and also manager posted on social media when the singer was on his eighth day in the ICU. He had pneumonia in both the lungs. Born on October 10th 1946, Prine was known for his humerous style of music. From the early 1970s he was an active song composer and stage performer.
Prine took up singing as a hooby and later on he had emerged on Chicago folk revivalist scene in the late 1960s, there the singer was discorverd by countyr star Kris Kristofferson. In 2020, John had been the winner of the lifetime achiever award.
