Air India on Friday said that they would be not be taking any bookings till April 30th and are waiting for a decision after the 21 day lock-down on April 15.
The bookings for both domestic and International flights are stopped till April 30.” If we accept bookings for flights and there are very poor passenger load for some flights, then it may not be commercially viable to operate those flights”, a senior AI official said.He also added that the AI is waiting for a decision on lock-down after April 15, when the 21 day is scheduled to end.Travelling inter state adn countries have been one of the biggest reason for the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the other side, the AI’s pilot union had opposed the 10% cut in employee’s allowance for the donation to the PM’s fund. They stated the decision as unequal and not acceptable. Adding to this they also said that their allowances are very low and cannot agree on the cut on their allowances.
