Those above the age of 60 who have been infected by Coronavirus are just 19%, however, the fatality rate is higher. Out of all the COVID-19 patients who have lost their lives, 63% them were above 60.
The Health Ministry on Monday stated that almost 86% of the deaths have been to patients who were suffering from hypertension, diabetes, kidney and heart disease. Meanwhile, fatalities of people over 40 to 60 was 30% and that of younger than 40 was 7%. Also the infection ratio of male and female is 3:1 since males who have been infected by coronavirus are 76% and females are 24%. Similar is the case with their fatalities, 73% of males and 27% deaths of females.
Therefore, age is actually a factor since coronavirus suppresses the immunity. Hence people who are younger and have a strong immune system have a higher chance of surviving this deadly disease.
