After the lockdown, there are several renowned people who communicated about the difficulties of the economically weaker section. People like Raghuram Rajan and Abhijit Banerjee have been a consistent voice of the poor during this crisis.
The Nobel-prize winner declared that the government isn’t doing enough for the poor and underprivileged people. Although the government has announced a particular price for contribution within the poorer section, they aren’t enough. Migrant workers have been left alone without any employment, they have no source to feed their families. Therefore, the government needs to be proactive in reassuring the people that their necessities will be fulfilled.
Abhijit Banerjee has won the Nobel Prize along with Michael Kremer and Esther Dufflo in 2019 for Economics. Banerjee has also spoken about the crisis of the economy previously when Amartya Sen and Raghuram Rajan came along to talk about solving the hardships of the poor.
