D Sivan, a postman in Tamil Nadu who used to walk 15 km daily, retires.
Walking through the thick forest, tough arenas, avoiding possible animal attacks, this man used to trek just to deliver letters. For instance, D Sivan used to deliver letters to inaccessible areas in Canoor. In order to deliver letters, he even faced some animal attacks by elephants, bears, and gaurs to complete his job.
IAS Officer Supriya Sahu even tweeted “Postman D Sivan walked 15 km every day through thick forests to deliver mail in inaccessible areas in Coonoor”. “Chased by wild elephants, bears, gaurs, crossing slippery streams and waterfalls he did his duty with utmost dedication for 30 years till he retired last week.”
Many other IAS and IPS Officers even acknowledged his dedication towards his job.
