13 Indian Passengers smuggling cigarettes were arrested at the Indra Gandhi International Airport by the Custom officers.
On July 24, Custom Officers arrested 13 people who tried to smuggle 7.5 L cigarettes worth ₹66 lakh at the IGI Airport.
The people arrested were labourers who were stranded on the Dubai Airport due to the ongoing pandemic situation going on around the world.
They are believed to be aged between 26-40. They were lured into doing this task, in return of making them reach their homes.
The officials said “They were probably lured into carrying the cigarettes in lieu of free flying tickets by the mastermind, the officials said.”
