According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Maharashtra continues to have the most cases within the country with 12,296 with 2000 recovered and 521 deceased. Followed by Gujrat with 5054 cases and Delhi with 3738 cases. The number of cases of coronavirus in Gujarat reached 5,054 after 333 cases were registered on Saturday, most of them in Ahmedabad, while the death toll increased to 262, with 26 new deaths, the maximum in one day, one official said. Till now 262 have been deceased in Gujrat with 896 recovered and 9775 active cases.
According to Principal Secretary (Health) Jayanti Ravi, the number of patients who recovered and were discharged from hospitals also increased to 896 after discharging 160 patients during the daytime. Of the 26 COVID-19 patients who died, nine were without existing health problems and 17 others were suffering from co-morbid problems, she added.
Twenty died in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad registered 250 new cases, and Vadodara and Surat 17 each, among 12 districts on Saturday where new patients were found, Ravi said. All the citizens are advised to take preventive measures at all times. Along with basic preventive measures like wearing masks and gloves, washing hands frequently they are also advised to sanitize their house and keep a set of different clothes when going outside their homes.
