The extraordinary group of Organized Crime Control Unit (OCCU) of Punjab Police professed to have captured the ‘engineer’ in the 2-kg gold plunder in Ludhiana.
On January 29, four men had purportedly burst into a gems store, VK Jewelers at Ghumar Mandi of Ludhiana, and fled with 2-kg gold during the daytime.
A FIR in this issue was enrolled at the division number 8 police headquarters against four unidentified people for supposedly submitting the theft in the wake of holding the storekeeper and a representative as prisoner at gunpoint. They had shown up in a SUV. Afterward, two captures were put forth in the defense.
The Punjab Police in a statement said that the accused “reportedly committed crime to mobilise funds for carrying out a spate of targeted killings as part of a pro-Khalistan agenda to disturb the state’s peace and communal harmony and spread mayhem”.
